My 11 year old decided to become emo so she can "be herself." She wrote out a checklist of stuff she had to do in order to be an individual. 1. dress in black 2. dye hair black 3. comb hair over her face 4. act sadThat is why nobody wants this crap around. Self pity is a cancer of the soul. Some people just have it... but most people learn it. I make my living as an artist. Not only do I believe in self expression, I live it. I'm sorry to break it to you.. but Emo, Goth, Punk, is not self expression. There is NO self expression in FOLLOWING.With that said. It is a fad that everyone involved in will outgrow and It should not be banned... just laughed at.
