After drafting in The Greenhornes' rhythm section of Jack Lawrence (bass) and Patrick Keeler (drums), the band recorded debut album 'Broken Boy Soldiers', releasing it to huge acclaim in 2006.
'Steady, As She Goes' was issued as The Raconteurs' first single and reached Number Four in the UK charts. The band made their first live appearance at Liverpool's Carling Academy in March 2006, and the same year headlined the Radio 1/NME Stage at the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals. The Raconteurs covered songs by Love, Nancy Sinatra, The Undertones and The Flamin' Groovies among others while on the road.
Now based in Nashville, The Raconteurs recorded second album 'Consolers Of The Lonely' in late 2007/early 2008. On March 18, the band announced that the record would be released just a week late (March 25) on all formats, with no review copies available. The first single was called 'Salute Your Solution'.
The group are known as The Saboteurs in Australia, where a local band trade under the name The Raconteurs.
