When: July 25-27
Where: Naeba Ski Resort, Fuji
What: If the thought of going to Glastonbury again or even to some of the European events is depressing you more than a Portishead album, why not give the Fuji Rock Festival a go? Firstly, it's set on a ski resort, up a mountain, so no wellies, cow shit or British weather. Secondly, the main food arena is truly international, so no rancid burgers or thrice-fried fish'n'chips. And more importantly, the ten stages still show some of the best acts from the British festivals - only in a much more inspiring setting.
Tickets: ¥39,800 (£194) for a three-day ticket. ¥16,800 (£81) for individual day tickets. ¥3,000 (£15) for a campsite ticket which includes camping from July 24 - 28 2008.
