Glasvegas to go on first US tour

They'll play club gigs this autumn

Glasvegas have announced the dates of their first-ever headlining tour of the US, which is set to take place this autumn.

The Glasgow-based band, who won the Philip Hall Radar Award for Best New Band at this year's Shockwaves NME Awards, will play several club shows across the country, as well as a date opening for Echo And The Bunnymen at New York's Radio City Music Hall on October 1.

The jaunt is set to kick off in Boston on September 29 and will hit cities including Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington DC, concluding at New York's Mercury Lounge on October 4.

Their highly anticipated debut album, 'Glasvegas', reelased in the UK on September 22, is due out in the US in early 2009.

The tour dates are:

Boston, MA Great Scott (September 29)
Philadelphia, PA North Star Bar (30)
New York, NY Radio City Music Hall (October 1)
Baltimore, MD Ottobar (2)
Washington DC Rock 'n' Roll Hotel (3)
New York, NY Mercury Lounge (4)

This band piss me off there not even average, now they're off to america flying the flag for scotland thanks but no thanks. If you want to hear a good scottish band wait till the views new albums out fuckin quality or the highly anticipated debut from the law.
