Leicester mob will head up Cheshire bash

Kasabian will headline the Creamfields festival 2008, set to take place in Darensbury, Cheshire on August 23 and 24.

The Leicester troupe will join a slew of acts set to be announced for the festival at 8.30PM (GMT) on NME.COM tonight (March 7).

Speaking to NME.COM, Kasabian’s guitarist, Serge Pizzorno said: "We were saying we wanted to something different this year, and it was a weird one that they [Creamfields organisers] rang us.

"I don't think there are many other bands who could do this or would accept the challenge of getting a dance crowd going. It's a big one, 70,000 people - I'm shaking thinking about it now. It's going to be incredible."

Check back on NME.COM at 8.30pm (GMT) tonight to find out details about the rest of the Creamfields line-up.
