They'll play shows in London and Berlin to launch new album

Metallica have announced that they will play two club shows to celebrate the release of their forthcoming studio album.

In a posting on the band's website, they announced gigs in Berlin and London on September 12 and 15 respectively.

They wrote: "Have we mentioned that we have an album coming out in September? Maybe just a few times…so to celebrate, we thought it would be cool to hang with a few of our closest friends in some of our favorite cities.

"On September 12 in Berlin, Germany and on September 15 in London, England we'll be hosting a little bash to celebrate the blessed event of the upcoming addition to the Metallica family/catalog. There will be a live band (that would be us!) and tickets will only be available to MetClub members and Mission: Metallica members."

Metallica have not yet disclosed the locations of the gigs. They are set to release 'Death Magnetic' - their first studio album in five years - this autumn.

Before then, Metallica will headline Reading And Leeds Festivals, on August 24 and 22, respectively.
