It kicks off October 21 in Arizona

Metallica have announced the first dates of a North American tour, kicking off October 21 in Glendale, AZ.

The band recently completed mixing their brand new album 'Death Magnetic'. The follow-up to 2003's 'St Anger' is out on September 23.

The dates are:
