PRETENDERS frontwoman CHRISSIE HYNDE has been detained by police over an animal rights demo in PARIS.

The singer, who was supporting animal rights activists PETA, and wearing a PETA T-shirt, joined other demonstrators outside a KFC in a protest against the fast food chain.

Hynde, along with a dozen other protestors, was detained at the nearest police station until her release less than an hour later. She is willing to pay any fine, but will continue in her protest, according to BBC News.

Only weeks ago Hynde had joined activists attempting to release the impounded Greenpeace boat Rainbow Warrior from the Spanish port Valencia.
