After The Rain Has Fallen(A&M)

For some reason, this CD has been rejected by the NME stereo. Won't even play a second of it. Either the mechanical apparatus in question has uncommonly good taste, or we have been sent a dud. In more ways than one, of course, it's the latter. On finding a less discerning stereo, we discover what it sounds like: middle-aged man with foxy muscles and mythic sex life groans raspily to generic car-ad tune about how he feels, you know, post-precipitation. He's got some pain in his heart, but it's getting better now that those storm clouds are clearing. In fact, now that he thinks about it, he can't complain. He's just sold out ten nights at the Albert Hall.
