The Little Ones

Ordinary Song

A bit like Led Zeppelin releasing a live album from the O2 entitled ‘Really Short Snappy Songs Played By Attractive Men At The Peak Of Their Musical Relevance’, the first new material from LA’s cheery pop prancers in a year is far from ‘ordinary’. Sure, maybe it doesn’t reach the ecstatic melodic heights of a ‘Cha Cha Cha’ or a ‘Lovers Who Uncover’ – but then, until they start making CDs out of MDMA, what could? – but it rattles on marvellously, a little bit Magic Numbers, a little bit TFC, a lot the sound of bottled sunshine and full of “heard you on the radio-radio!”s. Aceness.
