Oddly, ‘Salute Your Solution’ is the 13th-best song on the ‘Consolers Of The Lonely’ album, and there are only 14 tracks on it. That’s not to say it’s a duffer, goodness no. Indeed, it’s a deliciously crunchy, raw slice of what oldies call “Southern-fried rock’n’roll”, let down only by Jack White’s occasional need to sing like a twat. They should have probably released ‘You Don’t Understand Me’ instead, not least because it sounds a little bit like Elton John. Release schedule mishaps notwithstanding, The Raconteurs continue, in a very real sense, to rock.

Couldn't disagree with the reviewer more. I think that "Salute your solution" is the strongest track on the album, bar none. Rocking is what The Raconteurs do best, and that's what separates them from the VAST majority of the "rock" bands out there today. "Salute your solution" rocks as hard as anything on the album. The first track is money too. Twenty years from now all these talentless, image-centered, "cool because they're 'different'" indie bands will be long forgotten. The Raconteurs, however, will not be.

13th best song on the album? What are you talking about? If you split the album into the faster rockin' numbers and the slower numbers which is what the album essentially consists of, ''Salute Your Solution'' is the best or second best rockin' number only to ''Consoler of the Lonely''. Simple. Don't try and tell me ''Attention'' or ''Hold Up'' are better than this.However, it is a pretty obvious first single considering that there are some far more ''interesting'' songs on the album.
